Stone Processing

Step 1 – Extraction of Stone Blocks from Quarry

Marble quarries are places so unbelievable and striking; they almost feel like they are big theaters or sets. The principle objective of blasting is to develop cracks in the rock so as to dislodge it from the surrounding rock without causing damage to it or to the remaining rock. Drilling is generally carried out by jackhammer but now-a-days compressed air operated hydraulic machines are coming into use. Stone Blocks are further sent for processing.

Step 2 – Processing of Raw Block

Marble Blocks are huge in size and thus the processing work start by cutting them in variable size in length, height or width. Color, grain texture and pattern, and surface finish of the stone are also normal requirements. Durability (essentially based on mineral composition and hardness and past performance), strength, and the ability of the stone to take a polish are other important selection criteria.

Step 3 – Fabrication & Polishing of Stone Slabs

Step 4 – Finishing of Stone Slabs

Stones are finished by repeated application of abrasive treatments. This technique produces a shiny surface, with almost zero porosity, while improving resistance. Polished finish highlights the color and properties of the natural stone. It is commonly used as interior wall and floor dressing, as well as bench tops and in kitchen countertops. It is not recommended for outdoor paving, since it reduces slip resistance.

Step 5 – Quality Check and Ready to use slabs

We ensure size and specification inspection which includes the checking of the length, width, and thickness within the approval tolerance; the diagonal length, angle control etc. Material appearance inspection includes Color, Texture, Spots, Color Lines, uniform crystal / grain structure etc. Surface Finishing Inspection includes Polished, Honed, Flamed, Bush Hammered, Tumbled, Natural Cleft, Bevel Edge etc.Other Defects Checking includes Scratches, Cracks, Broken Edges, Chip Edges, Pin holes, swirl marks, Repairs etc. Other production process includes Degree of polish, Flatness and Angle of straight edges.

Step 6 – Stone Installation for lucrative interiors

Marble made a modern twist in the world of interior design; however, it is necessary to use it in small doses, accents and pieces.
